Responsibilities
- Procurement: Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services required for company operations.
- Planning and Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet production requirements utilizing techniques such as JIT, Kanban, Blanket POs, and Reschedules.
- Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate sources of supply, examine bids, and make awards based on quality, quantity, and cost considerations.
- Data Management: Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data in the MRP/ERP system to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Material Requirements Planning: Determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules and coordinate the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle.
- Total Cost Analysis: Evaluate bids consistent with the total cost of ownership, considering factors beyond initial purchase price.
- Supplier Management: Develop, implement, and support sourcing and supplier management initiatives to optimize supplier relationships and performance.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, lead times, and other contractual terms with suppliers, fostering mutually beneficial relationships.
