We surveyed over 1,900 workers currently working in the U.S. about compensation and found salary and compensation are the most important factors for job satisfaction for workers in the U.S. (65% of workers). While this is no surprise given the current economic climate and our recent workmonitor survey, we uncovered other fascinating insights about workers’ thoughts on pay.

which generation is least satisfied?
Baby Boomers are less satisfied (20.8%) compared to other groups.

are men or women happier with compensation?
Males are more likely to be satisfied (51.4%) with their compensation than females (39.9%).

are workers overall satisfied with their compensation?
Workers generally consider themselves adequately compensated for their work, but women only slightly agree at a rate of 48 percent, meaning 44 percent do not agree.

which generation is most likely to have received a cost of living adjustment?
While cost of living expenses continue to increase, 60 percent of workers haven’t received an adjustment based on the change, but of those who did, most were from Gen Z (43.4%).
