We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our client's team as a Cost Accountant. This critical role involves managing and optimizing the SAP cost accounting systems and processes, aiding in the development of product cost estimates, overseeing the production order lifecycle, and handling inventory management, valuation, and reconciliation. Responsibilities also include end-of-period closing activities such as SAP closures, accruals, journal entry preparation, general ledger reconciliations, cost center reporting, and detailed communication.

responsibilities:
- Maintain and update SAP material master and cost accounting views for new and existing products.
- Ensure accuracy in standard product costing and each cost component.
- Assist in the creation, analysis, and maintenance of SAP standard cost estimates.
- Extract and analyze data from SAP using Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions, to produce detailed reports for management.
- Conduct physical inventory audits across various locations, document corrections, and maintain audit records for CLS, consignment, and subcontractors.
- Supervise and report on the inventory cycle count program.
- Support gross productivity validation processes.
- Assist with compliance and process control initiatives.
- Perform month-end closing tasks, including work order costing, analysis, general ledger spending reviews, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and preparing journal entries and accruals.
- Provide operational reports on plant performance, including labor and overhead variances, PPV, adjustments, and KPI analysis.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports and analysis to management.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests in line with SOX guidelines.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
- 1-3 years of experience in cost accounting within a standard cost, work order environment.
- Experience with integrated manufacturing software, preferably SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong skills in data analysis tools such as pivot tables.
- Experience with Tableau, Business Objects, and HFM is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
