Tatum consulting project in Houston. The consultant will need to work as the Director of FP&A for the project duration of 3-6 months. The Tatum consultant will lead the FP&A and treasury functions for a mid-size private equity owned industrial services business. The consultant will act as the right hand to the CFO and be responsible for all things FP&A related. The intention is to have this person driven the company's efforts around a better use of data to support their strategic and investment interests. This should serve as an excellent development opportunity with the chance to work directly for a talented CFO, and closely with other members of the executive leadership team. We are looking for someone who is talented as a Finance professional and comfortable in a hands-on role.

responsibilities:
- Analyze and determine profitability of potential investments
- Work closely with CFO and executive team to continue improving reporting to investors
- Present financials with accompanying analysis of consolidated financial results to executive team in key management committees and investor group
- Be a trusted advisor of the CEO and CFO, driving strategic decisions thru analysis of data, financial discipline and understanding of the operations. In liaison with department leadership, build and implement strategic initiatives as well as promoting sharing/adopting best practices
- Assist the CFO on the annual business plan development and budgeting process
- Assist the CFO in defining key finance strategies and resource allocations; serve on strategic planning, project and policy-making committees
- Build strong relationships with leadership across all channels and business units, to ensure a solid understanding of their business goals and objectives
- Assist in establishing short- and long-range finance departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
qualifications:
- Must be local to Houston Texas area
- Accounting, Finance or other Business related degree
- MBA preferred but not a must have
- Experience in industrial services strongly preferred
- Investment banking or management consulting preferred but not required
- Well rounded background in FP&A with leadership experience preferred
- Communication skills are critical-have to be able to present to executive team and interact with field operations
- Good strategic/critical thinking background, need to be a problem solver and have examples
- Player/Coach-will need to be into the business as well as provide strategic vision for group
