We are partnering with a stable, privately-owned family business located in the Southern area of Westchester County NY that is experiencing tremendous growth. As a result they are looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the ability to manage moderately complex accounting tasks. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of our financial reporting, particularly during the month-end close process.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all journal entries related to month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion with proper supporting documentation.
- Reconcile all cash accounts and bank statements, addressing any outstanding checks or aged items.
- Ensure all assigned Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly, promptly identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Analyze assigned expense accounts, collaborating with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments and proper accruals.
- Maintain and track Fixed Assets and Capital Projects in the ERP system.
- Create and maintain Prepaid Expenses amortization schedules and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide variance analysis for Profit & Loss Statements, comparing actual performance to budget and identifying key drivers.
qualifications:
Familiarity / Competency with Dynamics365, or other ERP/accounting systems.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Microsoft Excel: Expert in analytics, data management, pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc
Video conferencing software - Microsoft Teams
Other Reporting: Microsoft Power BI
