responsibilities:
Fixed Assets & Accounting Operations:
- Manage and maintain the fixed assets register, ensuring accurate classification, capitalization, and depreciation.
- Review and approve journal entries, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, focusing on accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 4 accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and identify professional development opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and drive efficiencies across the shared service environment.
- Strengthen internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor process improvement initiatives.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations.
- 1+ years of experience supervising a team within a shared service or high-volume accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
