Randstad is currently seeking a highly accomplished Controller to serve as a key strategic partner to the Chief Financial Officer. This executive-level position is responsible for leading the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring strict adherence to GAAP, and upholding the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of all financial reporting activities. The role plays a critical part in supporting the organization's strategic growth initiatives and overall financial performance.
The Controller will oversee, develop, and empower a high-performing accounting team, with a focus on operational efficiency, process optimization, and the implementation of best practices. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands both strategic insight and technical proficiency, requiring a CPA with demonstrated expertise in complex accounting environments.

responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight of all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Direct the day-to-day accounting operations, including transaction processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and debt management, while maintaining operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Lead manufacturing cost accounting initiatives, including cost analysis, variance reporting, and the development of strategies to enhance profitability and drive operational efficiency.
- Assist in M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and execution.
- Lead the ERP system implementation and optimization initiatives to enhance data integrity, operational scalability, and reporting capabilities.
- Manage all aspects of internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation, accurate documentation, and full regulatory compliance.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, working closely with external tax advisors as needed.
- Optimize internal controls, streamline ERP system processes, and ensure effective cash flow and working capital management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous professional development.
- Partner with executive leadership to align financial strategies with broader business objectives and support organizational growth.
- Deliver actionable, data-driven financial insights to support strategic planning and executive decision-making.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; active CPA certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting or finance, with a demonstrated ability to manage and scale departmental operations in a dynamic environment.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks, with specific expertise in manufacturing accounting and cost analysis.
- Proven experience in M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition financial alignment.
- Solid understanding of tax compliance at the federal, state, and local levels, along with experience navigating regulatory and audit requirements.
- Strong leadership track record with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing accounting teams while maintaining a balance between strategic oversight and hands-on execution.
- Adept at driving cross-functional collaboration and building positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- ERP system implementation and optimization experience is required; proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools is a plus.
- A hands-on, approachable, and collaborative leadership style with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
