Tatum by Randstad, is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Property Accountant for a leader in the commercial real estate development and investment sector. This role requires a strong background in construction industry, full-cycle development, property accounting, and risk management across multiple projects and entities.

responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage accounting functions for development and operational projects.
- Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements and supplementary reports, including balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany eliminations.
- Invoice Review: Review and approve progress invoices for construction and development projects, ensuring compliance with job cost accounting procedures.
- Job Cost Summaries: Prepare and review job cost summaries for construction and development properties.
- Commitment Trackers: Set up and maintain commitment trackers and input pay applications into the job cost system.
- Compliance Tracking: Monitor compliance with COIs and lien waivers from vendors, tenants, and partners.
- General Ledger: Perform monthly reviews of the general ledger for accuracy and completeness.
- Equity Transactions: Record equity pick-ups, contributions, distributions, and minority interest eliminations related to joint-venture investments.
- Document Review: Analyze leases, contracts, and other legal documents as they relate to accounting and risk management.
- Third-Party Reviews: Review and analyze financial packages from third-party property managers.
- Draw Packages: Review monthly draw packages, capital calls, and financial reports received from joint ventures.
- Team Meetings: Participate in weekly meetings with project managers, property managers, and other core team members.
- Fixed Asset Accounting: Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation on both book and tax bases.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Perform budgeting and forecasting on both accrual and cash bases.
- Tax Coordination: Coordinate and correspond with the tax team.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Handle special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.
qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience: 5-7 years in Real Estate and/or Public Accounting
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience in commercial real estate and development, intercompany accounting, and project cost accounting for development projects
- Property Management Accounting: Experience in property management accounting is a plus
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and ERP accounting systems, preferably Sage 300 or Sage Intacct
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, planning, communication, and analytical skills
