responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and foster a high-performance culture within a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance individual and team performance.
- Ensure the efficient and timely completion of month-end close activities, including detailed reconciliations and preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Oversee and manage the financial accounting and reporting processes, ensuring all activities comply with internal policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit financial data for external regulatory reporting, ensuring full compliance with all legal and industry-specific filing requirements.
- Maintain and enforce adherence to all financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring strict compliance across all operations.
- Support and enhance internal control mechanisms to safeguard company assets, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and analysis to support the audit process.
- Spearhead initiatives to continuously improve financial reporting processes, driving efficiency and ensuring the accuracy of all financial statements.
- Lead and manage ad hoc financial projects, ensuring their alignment with broader organizational goals and strategies.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- 20+ years of accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance is required.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
