Tatum by Randstad is recruiting for a Senior Cost Accountant for a Menlo Park-based biotechnology company. The ideal Senior Cost Accountant will have previous life sciences or manufacturing experience and support the Controller with inventory/cost accounting, which includes inventory roll forwards, reclassification entries, consignment inventory, COGS accruals, PPV (Purchase Price Variance), PQV (Production Quantity Variance), audit assistance, day-to-day inventory transaction support, etc.
This contract role is hybrid (2 days in office), and has the potential to get hired on by the company at the end of the contract!
Compensation Range for this project is $55-65/hr. based on experience.

responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end close process for inventory and reconciling inventory by researching variances and creating adjusting entries; responsible for all accounting related to Inventory, Cost Accounting, Cost of Goods Sold, etc.
- Analyzing month-end reports for variances to forecast and budget and follow up on unusual variances to ensure understanding
- Prepare detailed calculations for inventory, cost of goods sold, inventory reserves and overhead allocations
- Leveraging an understanding of finance and accounting pertaining to sales, inventory, COGS and margin analysis
- Perform flux analysis and product cost calculations
- Assist in the preparation of cycle count and yearly audit reconciliations
qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of experience in cost and/or inventory accounting with life sciences and/or manufacturing experience
- NetSuite experience highly preferred
