Accounting Manager
A mission-driven organization in Bethesda, MD seeks an Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the accounting department. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting principles, and adherence to the organization's policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager will also work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of financial processes while supporting the mission of the
organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works accurately, efficiently, and
independently.

responsibilities:
? Controls and manages all functional areas of accounting (including bank reconciliations, pledges, accounts payable).
? Supervises and mentors accounting staff, providing training and support for ongoing
professional development.
? Works with our Impact department to track and report on grant management and on
restricted funds.
? Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements,
ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
? Prepares monthly budget reports for leadership and lead discussions over
financial reporting
? Supports the Organization for our annual audit and 990 filings.
? Manages annual filing of 1099 and 1099R
? Ensures that all financial reports and techniques are clearly communicated to staff
? Partners with departmental leadership on finance best practices.
? Performs other duties as assigned
qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
? Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
? Experience with Intacct, Bill, Blackbaud preferred.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
? Accuracy and attention to detail a must

Salary range for this position is $100,000 - 115,000 depending upon experience.
