responsibilities:
Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain journal entries, bank and general ledger reconciliations for partnership and fund investments.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Record and reconcile investor capital activity and investment entity activity.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, communicating solutions to management.
- Manage the monthly close process, including reviews and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the investor relations team to address inquiries and maintain accurate investor records.
- Prepare investment funding requests, wires, and internal transfers.
- Maintain thorough and organized accounting documentation.
- Respond to internal inquiries and prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed.
qualifications:
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with US GAAP accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Experience with Yardi (preferred).
- Prior real estate accounting experience (desired).
- Fund accounting experience (preferred).
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach.
