As part of our Pilot Plant team, which sits within our R&D function, you will be responsible for supporting ground-breaking R&D work for various platforms including Snacks, Morning Foods, Meals and Baking, Pet and Cereal. The Pilot Plant Technician role involves setting up, sanitation and running equipment for trials. This role exhibits strong customer service in support of various ITQ platforms as a partner and technical expert.

responsibilities:
- Safely operates equipment, understands food safety requirements and ability to perform risk assessments
- Basic analytical tests; troubleshooting; and skill building on specific unit operations
- Agile; with an ability to flex across teams within a platform as work needs shift
- Equipment Sanitation & Basic equipment set up activities
- Technical skill Development with product, process and/or packaging equipment
- Display a sense of urgency and a desire to learn new skills and tasks to grow capability
qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma
- 1+ years of experience working in a food lab setting
- Basic computer/technology skills
- Strong communication skills with peers and with customers
- Basic understanding of food safety
- Ability to work in hot/warm/cold conditions within the plant
- Ability to consistently & repeatedly lift, manipulate & transport ingredients or equipment, up to 55 lbs.
- Ability for potential exposure to common allergens including but no limited to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame
- Ability to work shifts other than first
- Previous work experience in a similar field
- Passionate around the creation of food and consumer trends (both food and packaging)
- Effectively manage multiple competing priorities
- Experience of working in teams to deliver results
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills
- Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment
- Comfortable operating equipment
- Desire to learn new concepts quickly and apply in productive ways
- Maturity to navigate through stressful situations
- Ability to assess and solve technical/mechanical problems
- Strong self-starter and holds a high regard for quality of work
