job summary:
The Manufacturing Technical Associate will be part of a diverse team of technicians and scientist/engineers focused on the delivery of exploratory clinical study supplies. The manufacturing technician will support operations (both upstream and downstream functions) by ensuring equipment is properly maintained and supplies are available as needed. The technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization as well.

responsibilities:
- Supporting unit operations as needed, including prepping, operating, and cleaning of single use and stainless steel fermenters, centrifuges, homogenizers, chromatography skids, and ultrafiltration skids. Preparation and autoclaving parts and tubing sets, etc.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of various types of equipment (pH meters, chromatography skids, etc.) including weekly calibration, ordering of supplies and spare parts, and interfacing with vendors for repairs as required.
qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's Degree, or BS/BA in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in a laboratory environment (bioprocess, chemistry, or analytical lab) or a manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Operational knowledge of computerized systems.
- Experience with fermenters, automated chromatography systems, or analytical equipment preferred.
- Experience with large-scale manufacturing equipment such as stainless or single-use bioreactors, tanks, and mixers preferred.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. May have to spend extended periods of time standing.
