Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Writer specializing in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical writing and an understanding of HEOR methodologies, capable of translating complex data into clear, concise, and impactful materials. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, health economists, and medical affairs experts, to develop and communicate scientific content for a range of audiences.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Scientific Content Development: Write, edit, and review HEOR-related content, including manuscripts, white papers, study protocols, value dossiers, economic models, and abstracts.
- Literature Reviews: Conduct comprehensive literature searches and systematic reviews to support the development of HEOR documents and submissions.
- Data Interpretation: Collaborate with HEOR analysts and statisticians to interpret data from economic models, clinical studies, and real-world evidence, ensuring accurate representation in documents.
- Regulatory and Compliance Adherence: Ensure that all written materials comply with regulatory guidelines, journal submission requirements, and company standards.
- Project Management: Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while maintaining timelines and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, health economists, and commercial teams, to develop and align strategic messaging.
- Educational and Training Materials: Support development of slide decks, training manuals, and other educational content to communicate HEOR insights to internal and external audiences.
- Support for Publications: Assist in preparing publications for peer-reviewed journals, including drafting and reviewing content and managing submission processes.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, health economics, public health, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, PhD, PharmD) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical writing within HEOR, medical communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in medical writing and familiarity with HEOR methodologies, including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, and real-world data studies.
- Strong understanding of biostatistics and data interpretation.
- Expertise in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, EndNote, reference management tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex data into user-friendly content.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Other: Familiarity with AMA style and regulatory writing guidelines.
- Experience with peer-reviewed publication processes.
- Background in working within a healthcare consultancy or pharmaceutical company.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in HEOR and medical communications.
