responsibilities:
- Execute hands-on scientific research involving screening of recombinant tool and therapeutic proteins, including antigens, antibodies and other biologics molecules.
- Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines (adherent and suspension) as required to support biological and functional assays.
- Generate cell lines for screening of therapeutic and tool molecules.
- Perform biological and biochemical assays (such as Flow Cytometry, ELISA, PCR and WES) to characterize cell lines and biologic molecules.
- Keep accurate electronic records of experiments and activities, timely summarize and graph experimental data, and present findings internally as needed.
- Work closely with scientists in the Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine organization and relevant project teams wherever appropriate.
- The position requires creativity, adaptability, critical thinking, and focus on pursuit of project team goals.
qualifications:
- BS or MS in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or other relevant biological sciences with 3-5 years of relevant academic or industry experience.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and assays such as ELISA, WES (or traditional Western blot), PCR and basic Flow Cytometry.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities.
- Ability to work independently on assigned research tasks, anticipate problems and propose potential solutions.
- Ability to work in a demanding and intellectually challenging environment, and teamwork across multiple scientific disciplines and functions.
- Knowledge of aging biology, age-related diseases, cancer biology, and/or biologics is a plus.
