responsibilities:
- General laboratory housekeeping.
- Cleaning of laboratory glassware and equipment.
- Preparation of material for sterilization in the QC Laboratory Autoclave.
- Operation of equipment preparation and cleaning systems in QC (e.g. QC Laboratory
- Autoclaves, QC glasswashers).
- Maintenance and stocking of departmental consumable inventory.
- Routine verification of operating parameters of temperature controlled units.
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of temperature controlled units.
- Set-up and disinfection of media, supplies, and equipment needed for testing.
- Perform sampling of critical utilities systems (e.g. water, air, alcohol).
- Perform non-batch release testing (e.g. raw materials, environmental monitoring).
- Assist in filling and archiving of departmental data, binders, reports, investigations, etc.
- Assist in retrieval of samples from manufacturing areas to the QC Laboratory for testing.
- Maintenance and disposal of waste generated throughout the laboratory.
- Retrieves and receives all samples into the QC Laboratories.
- Logs samples into logbooks.
- Receives samples into LIMS, EBM, and/or JDE.
- Aliquots samples.
- Stores and organizes samples in appropriate Controlled Temperature Units/Environmental
- Chambers.
- Enter data into LIMS.
- Initiate and pull Stability Studies / Samples.
qualifications:
REQUIRED
- Must have an ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and in a timely fashion.
- Must communicate effectively (verbal and written) with supervisors and peers.
- Has knowledge of most laboratory equipment including but not limited to autoclaves, incubators and analytical equipment.
- Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills.
- Has knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.
- Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and in a timely fashion.
- Able to identify when proper practices/ procedures are not performed.
- Must be willing to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning.
- Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Must be willing to work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, and buffers that may require respiratory protection.
- Must be able to work supplemental hours as necessary to complete work commitments.
- Has prior hands on experience with most laboratory equipment including but not limited to autoclaves, incubators and analytical equipment.
- Has prior hands on experience with basic chemical and biological safety procedures.
- Prior experience working in controlled environments requiring special gowning.
- May be required to work in a confined area.
- May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift to meet business needs. Must be willing to work off shifts hours.
