Medical Writer (Medical Communications - Oncology)

Are you a seasoned Medical Writer with deep Oncology expertise looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative startup environment?
We're supporting an award-winning, in-house agency at a global pharmaceutical company-recognized for its innovation and execution-and we're looking for flexible, detail-obsessed medical writers who thrive on variety and fast turnarounds. This best-in-class team produces innovative digital, video, AR/VR, and print assets, consistently outperforming internal and external competitors in execution, innovation, and client support. You'll support Oncology-focused projects across both established and pipeline products and be responsible for developing and reviewing scientifically accurate, high-impact content across medical and promotional deliverables, and building client trust through scientific expertise within key Oncology areas.

responsibilities:
- Develops and reviews different types of deliverables across diverse project types and audiences.
- Deliverables include slide decks, video scripts, website copy, publications, live and virtual meeting executive summaries, client internal workshops, etc.
- Regularly interact with strategy lead to discuss client goals, format, and content of project-related work
- Partner with Account Services and Scientific Strategy to develop and maintain excellent client relationships and foster organic growth.
- Proactively identify medical opportunities that contribute to strategic and tactical development within assigned accounts
- Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge across relevant therapy areas with emerging expertise in at least one therapy area (e.g. lung cancer).
- Has their finger on the pulse of industry trends and scientific developments, sharing their knowledge with internal teams and clients (where appropriate)
- Flexible and eager to work across different client accounts, deliverables, and therapy areas
- Educate agency teams by providing medical downloads on science and clinical content in your area of expertise within oncology
- Review content from a medical/scientific/strategic perspective, contributes to new business pitches
- Apply insights and data to support the development of new ideas
qualifications:
- PhD, PharmD, MD or NP Required
- 5+ years of Medical Writing experience in a pharma/medical communications agency setting (current or recent) required
- Seeking writers with diverse Oncology experience (2+ years)
- Proven experience supporting Medical Affairs teams and sponsors
- Experience building scientific slide decks for MSLs (Oncology)
- Adaptable, proactive and thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact setting
- Strong/Advanced PowerPoint skills required
