responsibilities:
- We are seeking a motivated Masters or PhD candidate to join our RWE and biostatistics research team as a Summer Intern focusing on the application of Double Machine Learning in Causal Inference.
- In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine machine learning models aimed at estimating causal effects using high dimensional real-world data.
- The intern will be expected to contribute to the design, methodological development, and statistical deliverables of this project.
- Intern may be required to assist with other small departmental projects
qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student in an accredited Master's program in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming skills - Python with experience in relevant libraries (e.g. scikit-learn). Experience with using SQL and R.
- Demonstrates good understanding and experience with using administrative healthcare claims and EMR datasets
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, and/or deep learning).
- Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A final presentation sharing what was learned during the internship will be expected.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with supervision, learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and methods.
- Availability to work full-time during the summer internship period with Authorization to work in the US for the duration of the program
- Educational year of the requested Intern (graduating with MS or PhD)
