Real-World Evidence & Biostatistics ~ Exclusive Summer Internship Opportunity
We're looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join our Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Biostatistics research team for a Summer Internship. This role will focus on the application of Double Machine Learning in Causal Inference, providing exposure to real-world healthcare data and advanced statistical modeling techniques. The intern will work with cross-functional teams to develop machine learning (M/L) models for estimating causal effects in high-dimensional datasets. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in RWE research, statistical methodologies, and data science applications in healthcare.

- FT availability - Summer 2025
- Currently enrolled in a PhD in 2025 (Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science or related field)
- R, Python & SQL Programming Skills
- Machine Learning (M/L), EMR datasets & healthcare claims data exp.
- Experience with Data Visualization & Analysis Tools including Power BI, pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn

responsibilities:
- Work as part of the RWE and Biostatistics research team, applying Double Machine Learning in Causal Inference.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine machine learning models for estimating causal effects using high-dimensional real-world data.
- Contribute to study design, methodology development, and statistical deliverables.
- Assist with additional small departmental projects as needed.
qualifications:
- Education: PhD program in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (scikit-learn), SQL, and R.
- Data Experience: Hands-on experience with administrative healthcare claims and EMR datasets.
- Machine Learning: Solid understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and/or deep learning algorithms.
- Data Visualization & Analysis: Experience with Power BI, pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, and seaborn.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US for the duration of the internship.
- Final Presentation: Required to present learnings from the internship.
- Availability: Must be able to work full-time during the summer internship period.
