responsibilities:
- Maintains laboratory and supply space cleanliness and demonstrates safe laboratory behavior.
- Work with the lead scientist and manager, ensure that sensory studies are executed on time and with excellence
- Helps plan and procure products and supplies for the laboratory each week to enable on-site tastings and product evaluations (e.g. foods, beverages, cups, napkins, etc.).
- Supports execution of sensory studies conducted by our sensory and employee panels.
- Familiar with and adheres to health, safety and environment policies and procedures that pertain to role and with good laboratory practices.
- Supports execution of on-site and external sensory and consumer testing under guidance of the senior technician:
- Schedule, plan and execute informal lab tastings including product preparation, ballot development and reporting.
- Assists with procurement, and shipping products for external consumer testing ensuring timely delivery and record keeping.
- Supports execution of onsite consumer testing. Coordinates with facilities for onsite consumer testing to ensure facility is ready for consumer research (e.g. room set up, staffing for product prep, alert security).
qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma minimum
- Experience working in a laboratory, maintaining equipment and following standard operating procedures
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Familiarity with sensory testing software is a plus
- Statistical skills a plus
