Discovery Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join the Cell and Functional Biology group. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and execution of cell- and protein- based functional characterization assays for lead antibody identification/optimization and collaborating to generate stage-gate appropriate in vitro / cellular / in vivo data packages supporting PoC.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience working with antibodies, significant experience in immunoassays (such as ELISAs) and familiarity with automation technologies is highly valued. The applicant should be able to analyze, document, and report data. You should possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable presenting in group settings.

responsibilities:
- Onboarding of materials and cataloging into our internal systems with a strong attention to quality and details when exercising organizational, documentation and communication skills.
- Conduct high throughput antibody screening and characterization to assess binding, functional and polyreactive attributes.
- Analyze and interpret results, placing data in proper scientific context through review of relevant literature and reporting these findings at team meetings.
- Perform general laboratory research competently and independently, modifying and troubleshooting experimental design and instrumentation to suit the needs of research.
- Support the expansion of high throughput screening platforms and assay design and the evaluation of novel technologies.
- The ideal candidate is expected to work on multiple projects in a team environment.
qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- BS with 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience or PhD in Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience or other related field
- In vitro cell-based assay proficiency
- Fluorescent based assay development with expertise in cell-culture, flow cytometry, ELISA/microplate cytometry and imaging platforms
- Data analysis and statistical software skills
- Teamwork and independent work ability
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication
- High-throughput screening

- Multi-specific antibodies
- External collaboration experience
- Pharma Industry experience (preferred over education level)
