responsibilities:
- Characterize and assess stability of biologic drug candidates (e.g., monoclonal antibodies, ADCs, bispecifics) using a range of analytical and biophysical techniques.
- Design and execute formulation studies, including screening of excipients and evaluation under various stress conditions (pH, temperature, light, freeze-thaw, etc.) to support development of stable drug products.
- Conduct analytical testing such as HPLC/SEC, electrophoresis (icIEF, SDS-PAGE), mass spectrometry, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for protein characterization.
- Support early-stage developability assessments, including candidate selection and formulation recommendations for clinical studies.
- Document experimental results clearly and accurately in technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with discovery, analytical, and process R&D teams to align on formulation strategy and development plans.
- Stay current with scientific advancements and contribute to new scientific initiatives within the Biologics Drug Product Development team.

Required Skills (Non-Negotiables):
- Education/Experience:
- BS with 4 years or MS with 2 years of hands-on lab experience (industry preferred)
- Laboratory Skills:
- HPLC/SEC (Size Exclusion Chromatography)
- Electrophoresis techniques (icIEF, SDS-PAGE)
- Mass Spectrometry (MS) for protein characterization
- Protein stability characterization (e.g., DSC)
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience with biologics including monoclonal antibodies, ADCs, bispecifics, trispecifics, and fusion proteins
- Analytical methods: HPLC, UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, particle analysis, UV-vis, DLS, DSC
- Understanding of biologics degradation and stabilization
- Hands-on formulation development (excipient screening, stress testing, high-throughput assays)
- Process Knowledge:
- Familiarity with aseptic manufacturing unit operations: freeze-thaw, compounding/mixing, filtration, filling, lyophilization
- Workstyle:
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, lab-focused environment (80% lab, 20% documentation/meetings)
- Strong documentation and scientific communication skills
- Experience with formulation testing and understanding excipient/buffer impact on protein stability
- Strong background in large molecule biologics and protein chemistry
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a matrixed team environment
- Demonstrated adaptability, teamwork, and motivation to learn
- Experience in authoring scientific technical reports and presenting experimental data
