A Sr. Electrical Designer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Reston, VA area. This position is responsible for designing raceways, equipment layouts, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems, using tools like Setroute and AGi32, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and collaborating effectively within a team.

responsibilities:
- lectrical Physical Design and circuit and raceway design.
- Input and update C&R schedules, design conduit and aboveground raceways.
- Work under Engineering Group Supervisor and Lead Designer.
- Produce drawings and documentation according to established design and scope.
- Design lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
- Independent creative design following Bechtel and industry standards and procedures.
- Utilize 2D and 3D CADD skills.
- Use electronic Cable Management System (e.g., SETROUTE) for database input and corrections.
- Ensure compliance with installation codes, regulations, and standards.
- Interface with Construction and Subcontractors as necessary.
- Communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
- Collaborate with other disciplines.
- Use Microsoft Windows suite and other computer programs.
- Manage conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
Basic Qualifications
- AA/AS degree with 11 years of related electrical design experience, or high school diploma with 15 years of related experience.
- US Citizenship required.
- Ability to complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Possess or obtain security clearance.
- Experience in Nuclear, Quality, and Safety Environment.
- Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).
- Experience with quality assurance programs (ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, ISO-9000).
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs.
- Knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Knowledge of electrical raceway and equipment layouts.
- Experience with design tools (CAD 2D/3D, cable designing and routing software).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Bechtel standard programs.
- Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program.
- Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application.
- Experience with Revit and SmartPlant 3D design tools.
- Knowledge of Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPS).
- Experience with construction interface and field problem resolution.
- Experience with AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant Design.
