A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in the Bakersfield, CA area. This role involves applying advanced engineering techniques in utility and Oil & Gas projects, including design, estimation, and technical guidance, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.

responsibilities:
- Perform complex and difficult engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
- Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Develop detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
- Prepare and issue specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents.
- Provide technical guidance to CAD Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers.
- May provide professional engineer seal and signature; ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- May act as an advisor to senior management on engineering-related matters.
- Work with 480V and up systems.
- Work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.
- Exhibit good organizational and communication skills; express ideas clearly both orally and in writing.
- Accept responsibility for own actions and honor commitments.
- Travel to client offices, company offices, and project sites for meetings, inspections, and field support.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and office networks.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of related work experience.
- Active Professional Engineer registration in California or ability to obtain it within 3 months.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software packages.
- Experience in low and medium voltage heavy industrial design, substation design, transmission, distribution line design, and ETAP modeling.
- Working knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards (e.g., NEC, ASME, ANSI, ISA, ASHRAE, IEEE, ASTM, NFPA).
