responsibilities:
- Assess manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and feasibility before and after engineering releases to production.
- Lead initiatives and projects focused on Kaizen improvements and cost reduction.
- Manage all engineering releases and changes, ensuring proper routing, standards, data entry, and quality control to meet customer expectations.
- Utilize CAD software to design and develop equipment and parts, including 3D imaging and process simulation.
- Work with machining processes, robotics, geometric tolerances, and other engineering studies.
- Prioritize tasks with the Production Engineering Supervisor, maintaining detailed documentation as necessary.
- Investigate, justify, purchase, and track company assets.
- Collaborate with the Production Engineering Supervisor to oversee accurate and timely tooling construction.
- Review and manage plant expansion or alteration projects, coordinating with external contractors.
- Lead cost reduction projects, focusing on reducing cost per piece.
- Fabricate specialized tools as needed.
- Support Kaizen improvements to reduce equipment cycle times and maintenance costs.
- Manage and document new tool designs using CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
- Assist the maintenance team with improvements related to tools and equipment.
- Serve as a Project Manager or support tooling engineers to ensure successful tool project implementations and maintain a safe working environment.
