Transmission Line Design Engineer opportunity with a client located in the Atlanta, GA area. This position will be responsible for providing transmission line design, engineering and technical support as part of a transmission engineering and design team. This could include renewable energy interconnections as well as grid modernization opportunities. Relocation is available for eligible candidates.

responsibilities:
- Full life cycle project design on transmission line design projects for overhead utility systems
- Develop design packages for projects, enhancing customer service and reliability
- Assist the team as well as independently perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications
- Prepare material procurement and construction documents, and work with project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management
- Manage client relations proposal development, scope creation, and project management
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural or Electrical Engineering (PE license preferred but not required)
- Demonstrated experience using PLS-CADD line design
- 5 or more years of electrical utility Transmission Line design experience with a working knowledge of High Voltage Transmission line design at a voltage of 69kV and higher.
- Technical competency in all aspects of Transmission Line utility design including general arrangement and layout of the structures
- Understanding of the functions and application of all Line components (hardware, poles, permits, survey, clearances, loading)
- Understanding of foundation design, grounding, lightning and shielding protection, sag and tension limits; etc.
- Ability to ensure that a complete design package (drawings, bill of materials, conduit lists, construction specifications, etc.) are delivered to the client within budget and on time
