A wonderful client is seeking a Quality Control Technologist Team Lead to join their team. In this position, you will supervise the quality testing of all formulas and raw materials, offering analytical and technical support to Operations, R&D, suppliers, and customers. You will also manage a QC Technologist and a QC Technician.
Candidates must have strong hands-on leadership and managerial experience in a QC or lab environment, with a minimum of 5 years in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience in sensory evaluation and a background in the food industry.

responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee standard QC testing and equipment checks.
- Make confident decisions on material rejections and deviations.
- Maintain QC laboratory, stocking/purchasing supplies and raw materials.
- Maintain proper storage and organization of QC product retains.
- Conduct all standard QC testing procedures. Make confident decisions and dispositions for all physical and sensory
tests. - Maintain product testing procedures and documentation.
- Provide root cause analysis for non-conforming materials.
- Train and guide QC staff.
- Complete or assist with Regulatory documentation.
- Introduce/initiate continuous improvement opportunities, departmental and companywide.
- Provide training and guidance to Technicians.
- Participate and represent the QC dept in company meetings.
- Confidently communicate with Suppliers and Customers.
- Support the investigation of customer/vendor non-conformances.
- Maintain/update QC SOP's for accuracy.
- Assist with maintaining inventory accuracies by timely dispositions (approval, rework, rejections)
- Perform other activities as instructed.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and support customer/vendor non-conformance investigations.
- B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field, or 5+ years of experience in Quality Control.
- strong leadership and managerial experience in a QC or lab setting.
- Experience with sensory evaluation
- Experience with sampling of raw materials
- In-depth knowledge of GLP, GMP, and laboratory procedures.
- Initiate and inform pertinent parties of all material rejections and deviations.
- Provide accurate and complete information and documentation to allow for proper root cause and corrective action follow-up.
- Create and maintain Finished Products and Raw Material Quality Specifications.
- Experience with QC equipment checks, calibrations, and laboratory management.
- Proven ability to make critical decisions on material deviations and corrective actions.
- strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and QC software.
- Experience in regulatory documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
