A Technical Sourcing Specialist is needed for the world's largest standalone medical technology development company in the Irvine, CA area. This role provides strategic sourcing leadership for New Product Development (NPD) by managing supplier relationships, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment of product and supplier technology roadmaps to drive competitive, risk-mitigated, and cost-effective sourcing solutions.

responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing efforts for NPD teams by coordinating supplier communication and material/component sourcing.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, focusing on reducing supply risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Drive supplier identification, selection, evaluation, and qualification in line with category and development strategies.
- Document and manage sourcing strategies for NPD, tracking improvements in risk, quality, cost, and lead time for components.
- Report sourcing strategy updates at each phase of development, ensuring launch readiness.
- Coordinate transfer of project information and responsibilities to commodity teams and/or manufacturing locations.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including GSM, Operations, and suppliers, to meet program goals.
- Provide mentorship to entry-level team members and support their professional growth.
- Project support or coordination experience.
- Experience with remediation (DHF, EU MDR, UKCA).
- Familiarity with medical device development and industry standards (ISO 13485).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Bio-Medical).
- 2-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or
- 1-3 years with a Master's degree.
