Large utility is looking for a GIS / CAD Operator in Grand Rapids, MI. The GIS Technician inputs and maintains Low Voltage Electric design work orders in a GIS Mapping System, requiring proficiency in GIS software, electric design concepts, construction drawing interpretation, and effective teamwork within a safety-focused environment. responsibilities:
- Input Low Voltage Electric design work orders into a GIS Mapping System.
- Communicate with internal customers regarding design orders and records.
- Interpret electric work orders, construction drawings, and related documents.
- Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other technical records.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure workplace safety.
- Assist in training co-workers and collaborate with team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform responsibilities with professionalism, respect, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Proficient in GIS software and electric design concepts.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Windows XP or later and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capable of meeting deadlines and making independent decisions.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new systems and procedures.
- strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of SAP software is a plus.
- Associate's degree in a related field or
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
