A Senior Gas and Construction Inspector is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in the Boston, MA area. This role involves overseeing and inspecting gas and electric utility construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and maintaining accurate records, requiring technical expertise, managerial skills, and field experience.

responsibilities:
- Utilize experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with a focus on:
- Gas installations
- Plastic pipe installation
- Welding
- Steel pipefitting
- Gas installations
- Oversee construction projects involving:
- Gas Transmission/Distribution pipelines
- Gate stations
- District regulator stations
- Downgrades
- Gas Transmission/Distribution pipelines
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, from design (including cost estimation) to final close-out.
- Inspect and ensure work by contractors adheres to company specifications, proper methods, and equipment use.
- Read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed field records, including:
- Daily job reports
- Material usage and locations
- Field test records
- Daily job reports
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements and maintain safe job conditions.
- Managerial skills and computer literacy.
- Working knowledge of the utility industry.
- Familiarity with construction practices, particularly related to:
- Excavation
- Road construction
- Utility construction
- Excavation
- Ability to oversee electric utility projects, including:
- Overhead/Underground Electric Transmission and Distribution
- Substations
- Environmental projects
- Facilities projects
- Overhead/Underground Electric Transmission and Distribution
- Associate's Degree in a technical or construction-related field OR high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
- At least five (5) years of prior experience and training in the field.
- Valid driver's license.
