A Environmental Specialist is needed for a company that produces electronics and HVAC equipment for buildings in the Norman, OK area. This job ensures compliance with environmental regulations, promotes sustainability, conducts employee training, and manages programs to reduce environmental impact and enhance workplace safety in a manufacturing setting.

responsibilities:
- Drive cultural change by engaging salaried and hourly employees to meet environmental goals.
- Serve as the lead contact for regulatory agencies regarding compliance.
- Investigate environmental incidents using formal root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training on programs such as SWP3, SPCC, and RCRA.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the environmental management system.
- Design and implement motivational programs to enhance environmental awareness.
- Conduct industrial hygiene testing to ensure a safe work environment.
- Review and approve changes in manufacturing processes to minimize environmental impact.
- Sustain corporate environmental systems and identify pollution prevention opportunities.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports (e.g., Tier II, TRI Form R, wastewater reports) on time.
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, ensuring proper handling, storage, and transportation.
- Coordinate testing for air emissions, wastewater, and stormwater.
- Oversee compliance with ISO14001 and ISO45001 EHS Management Systems.
- Monitor and improve environmental processes to support recycling and waste reduction.
- Track environmental impacts using ESG platforms and drive performance improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Occupational Health and Safety (required).
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred certifications: ASP, CSP, or COSHO.
- Knowledge and experience in RCRA, SWP3, PSM, Tier II, SPCC, and wastewater permitting.
- Leadership and employee engagement.
