Our client just outside of Berlin, CT is looking to add a CNC Machinist to their growing team for a direct hire opportunity! Candidates will be grinding cylindrical tapered surfaces so 3-5 years of metal grinding experience is required. All candidates need is a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, as well as the ability to read blueprints and drawings. This position is paid hourly and overtime will be a function of this role. responsibilities:
- Grind external or internal cylindrical and tapered surfaces.
- Use abrasive wheels to remove metal from workpieces.
- Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces.
- Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.
- Determine product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and the number of parts to be ground.
- Track labor and part quantities by scanning work orders.
- Gather and assemble necessary products.
- Set grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and select grinding wheels.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Be willing to work overtime.
