A Senior Instrument and Controls Designer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Manassas, VA area. The Senior Instrument and Controls Designer role involves designing, specifying, and managing instrumentation and control systems for advanced industrial facilities, collaborating with clients, mentoring team members and ensuring on-site project success.

responsibilities:
- Develop Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) using ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology.
- Design panels, including layout and I/O wiring diagrams.
- Specify control and monitoring devices and control valves, including performing valve sizing calculations.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and edit site-specific Sequence of Operations (SOO) documents for semiconductor equipment.
- Review construction submittals and respond to RFIs.
- Manage demanding project schedules and prepare accurate reports.
- Mentor junior team members to develop their technical and professional skills.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for design work.
- Troubleshoot analog, digital, and relay field wiring systems.
- Specify instruments and create ISA datasheets.
- Apply expertise in PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation.
- Maintain, calibrate, and install pressure, temperature, flow, and level instrumentation.
- Build industrial control panels and integrate them into systems.
- Use Microsoft Suite tools for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
- Work on projects in semi-conductor industrial and general industrial facilities.
- Apply knowledge of industrial networks and electrical power systems.
- Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics or Instrumentation.
- At Least 10 years of I&C Design Experience.
