A Quality Assistant is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Richmond, VA area. This role role focuses on enhancing quality output and continuous improvement by implementing quality systems, conducting inspections, resolving nonconformities, training teams, and maintaining compliance with established standards.

responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections on units being shipped.
- Train operational teams on quality management tools and methods.
- Support the implementation of quality improvements and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Collect, analyze, and report Quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Provide feedback to teams to align processes with customer expectations.
- Process nonconforming materials and collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to resolve issues.
- Work with associates to correct nonconformities and train them to prevent future defects.
- Communicate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations to address drawing, BOM, and material discrepancies.
- Create Quality Alerts to inform field engineers and assemblers of recurring quality issues.
- Perform incoming material inspections as needed.
- Interact with the Test Department to address assembly line nonconformities.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the Quality system.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure processes, procedures, and products meet established standards.
- Lead small work teams to document processes and implement quality controls for consistency.
- 2-5 years of experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.
- Electrical experience preferred.
