A Civil/Structural Professional is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This role involves developing and reviewing structural engineering designs, including steel calculations and GTSTRUDL models, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with design standards while providing technical guidance and addressing constructability for construction projects.

responsibilities:
- Create and review complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel calculations and specifications.
- Develop, check, and modify complex structural analysis models using GTSTRUDL.
- Review and coordinate technical documents with or from other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare technical reports addressing specific design issues.
- Provide technical direction to designers and less experienced engineers.
- Assist in constructability reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural or related) from an accredited university.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (GTSTRUDL or Staad.pro).
- Familiarity with Mathcad or similar software.
- Competence in structural steel building/tower analysis.
- strong written and verbal communication skills for expressing technical issues.
- Proficiency in CADD applications (MicroStation, Tekla, NavisWorks).
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Mathcad or similar software.
- Thorough knowledge of AISC Steel Manual & ASCE 7 standards.
- Familiarity with company standard programs and Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs).
- Knowledge of design standards, guides, and Standard Application Programs (BSAPS).
- Presentation skills with technical competence and confidence.
- Knowledge of engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications, material requisitions).
- Understanding of construction methods for concrete and steel structures.
- Familiarity with work processes across disciplines and departments.
