Our client in Newnan, GA is seeking a skilled and motivated International Buyer/Purchaser. You will play a critical role in sourcing and procuring a diverse range of materials, including casters and filters, for their growing operations. This position requires experience with international trade practices, including tariffs, customs, and logistics.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing/planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in international sourcing and procurement, including an understanding of tariffs, customs, and import/export processes.
- Proven ability to identify and qualify new suppliers, particularly in international markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- ISM/CPP/CPPM certification or a degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with various delivery terms and payment methods.
- Familiarity with international holiday schedules and their impact on shipping timelines (e.g., Chinese New Year).

- Strategic Sourcing: Proactively identify and qualify new international suppliers for over 1600 SKUs.
- Tactical Buying: Manage the purchasing process for both domestic (50%) and international (50%) products, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
- International Trade Expertise: Navigate international tariffs, customs regulations, and clearance processes with ease.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and reliable delivery.
- Negotiations: Master negotiation tactics to achieve favorable pricing and terms, considering currency exchange rates, commodity pricing fluctuations, and other market variables.
- Logistics Management: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of international logistics, including modes of delivery (LTL, full container, air), delivery terms (FCA, DDP, DAP, CIF), and payment terms.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all incoming products meet strict quality standards, including first piece qualification processes.
- Data Analysis: Track and analyze purchasing data, identifying trends, and optimizing purchasing strategies for cost-efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the purchasing manager, operations team, and other departments to ensure seamless supply chain management.
