A Multi-Discipline Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Erwin, NY area. The role involves performing visual inspections, measurements, and quality control checks on materials, maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating with teams to resolve quality issues, and supporting safety initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections and measurements on incoming materials (refractory and sheet metal) to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and report non-conformances or deviations from quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of production processes to monitor quality control parameters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and documentation.
- Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Support department safety initiatives, applying knowledge of industrial safety standards and identifying health hazards.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation (e.g., specifications, design prints, SOPs, etc.).
- Proficient in using measurement tools and equipment.
- strong knowledge of quality control methods, practices, and procedures.
- High attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding.
- Metrology experience (e.g., CMM, vision systems, 3D scanning).
- Understanding of SolidWorks/CAD.
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience.
