Large utility is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Ira Township, MI.This job ensures the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the Gas Compression fleet by serving as a subject matter expert, coordinating projects, analyzing equipment performance, and supporting design, construction, and operational standards. responsibilities:

• Ensure safe, reliable, and resilient operations of the Gas Compression fleet.
  
  
• Act as the subject matter expert for engines, compressors, and unit auxiliary systems at the station.
  
  
• Ensure adherence to design standards and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  
  
• Monitor equipment and systems to meet operating reliability metrics.
  
  
• Coordinate project work with:
  
  
• Internal and external engineers of record.
  
  
• Vendors, fabricators, and contractors.

Perform moderately complex engineering assignments, applying standard techniques, theory, and procedures.

Independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering theories, techniques, and procedures.

Use judgment to adapt and modify engineering tasks as needed.

Work efficiently and effectively on small and large project teams supporting multiple project managers.

Act as the lead support engineer in:

Problem-solving.

Conducting causal analysis for equipment, system, and business process failures or malfunctions.





Skills and Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  
  
• Experience with AutoCAD.
  
  
• Knowledge of design, construction, or operation of facilities.
  
  
• Familiarity with planning and permitting processes related to design and construction.
  
  
• Experience reviewing designs for compliance with:
  
  
• Engineering standards.
  
  
• Applicable codes.
  
  
• Constructability.
  
  
• Industry and CE standards.

Experience in procuring engineered materials, equipment, and professional services.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited school.
  
  
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an engineer.
