An employee owned engineering firm near Atlanta is looking for a Mechanical/Piping Design Engineer. Candidates need at least 8 years of piping and mechanical layout design experience. Must have knowledge of ASME design codes and worked with piping, boilers and power generation related equipment. Should be proficient with AutoCAD. Revit is a plus. Hybrid work schedule. responsibilities:
Route cost-effective piping systems including steam, boiler-feed, condensate, cooling water and instrument air
Review and interpret piping systems in PFD and P&ID drawings
Review vendor and other contract related documents
Collaborate with stress engineer on piping design
Interpret pipe stress analysis reports for incorporation into piping design
Provide design expertise working with piping and instrument diagrams, drafting sketches for 2D or the modeling of 3D equipment for power systems including steam generation, boiler feed and condensate, water treatment, fuel handling, ash handling, conveying systems and air and gas systems
Prepare and design complex 2D and 3D large assembly mechanical production drawings to facilitate timely and cost?effective construction of project utilizing CAD Software
Review the contract scope documents, codes, permits prior to beginning work on a project and at various times during the project as required to ensure compliance
Review multi?discipline drawings for conflicts and provide practical solutions for construction related problems
Review mechanical bid packages for compliance
Review weekly project schedules to ensure that deadlines are met
