A Senior Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This role involves planning, coordinating, and conducting engineering work for global projects, applying engineering techniques to solve complex problems, leading technical efforts, and collaborating across disciplines while ensuring adherence to design standards and regulatory requirements.

responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed engineering work phases for a global business unit, typically within one discipline.
- Evaluate, select, apply, and adapt engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to devise new approaches for solving problems.
- Resolve complex engineering challenges, such as conflicting design requirements and material unsuitability.
- Develop equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations, and award recommendations for equipment procurement.
- Coordinate engineering efforts within assigned areas, collaborating with other engineering disciplines, clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Address technical issues, including constructability requirements and reviews with other departments.
- When delegated, assume a leadership role over engineers or project subgroups for specific tasks.
- Assist in training assigned personnel and contribute to performance evaluations.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering techniques, system design, and calculations relevant to the discipline.
- Apply engineering department procedures and company design guides to plant constructability.
- Proficient in current engineering and design software, including CAD, CAE, and other standard company applications.
- Understanding of engineering planning, control methods, and computerized systems.
- Knowledge of industry regulatory codes, standards, and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
- Professional engineering license from a recognized board.
- Specialized courses in engineering disciplines as required.
