A Project Cost Estimating Manager is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in the Syracuse, NY area. The Principal Estimator leads and manages the estimation process for large-scale manufacturing and industrial projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency while providing leadership and expertise to the estimating team.

responsibilities:
- Manage and guide the estimating team, ensuring effective leadership and direction.
- Oversee the estimation process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Lead and take full responsibility for estimated costs of contracted services.
- Ensure estimates are prepared in compliance with company policies and program requirements.
- Verify the team operates within their skill sets and uses sound industry practices.
- Review contract documents to assess cost reasonableness and verify risk and contingencies.
- Utilize knowledge of resource skill sets and durations for accurate project estimates.
- strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in project control software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Primavera, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, and DMCS.
- Proven ability to manage a team delivering complex construction estimates.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience.
