A Quality Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Manassas, VA area. This role involves leading quality engineering initiatives, supporting manufacturing and validation projects, driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with FDA and quality standards, and applying Six Sigma tools to enhance product and process quality in a medical device environment.

responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in project teams to implement improvement and manufacturing process initiatives.
- Provide manufacturing support for validation and equipment projects, aligning with FDA requirements for medical devices.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Performance Excellence activities, including leading/coaching teams, facilitating events, and providing training.
- Apply Six Sigma tools, FMEA, CE Diagrams, DOE, MSA, and other quality engineering practices to support manufacturing operations and project teams.
- Lead execution of validation protocols and develop/revise quality plans for inspections and training.
- Perform technical reviews and interpret data for accuracy of equipment/process performance.
- Write technical reports, protocols, and SOPs; review and revise documentation as needed.
- Oversee the change management program, ensuring technical review and risk assessments for changes.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- strong technical writing skills.
- Ability to apply basic math concepts and work well independently or in groups.
- Minimum 4-year degree in microbiology, chemistry, biology, engineering, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of work experience in quality engineering or related fields.
