A Senior Structural Engineer is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in the Syracuse, NY area. The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for reviewing and preparing designs, computations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, providing technical guidance to teams, coordinating multidisciplinary efforts, and supporting construction and commissioning phases for industrial facility projects.

responsibilities:
- Review work to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and procedures, and monitor the productivity and technical proficiency of team members.
- Review and prepare design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform engineering computations, design tasks, and validate engineering calculations.
- Review structural elements in Navisworks 3D models for functionality, egress, maintenance, constructability, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Review and approve equipment and component submittals in collaboration with O&M staff.
- Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers on project tasks.
- Validate responses to construction RFIs.
- Review and approve shop drawings and construction models.
- Conduct field engineering quality assurance (QA) during construction and support commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of design practices including specifications, codes, building materials, costs, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency with analysis software such as RISA, Enercalc, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Building Codes, ASCE7, AISC, ACI, and related standards.
- Experience in structural design using steel, concrete, and other materials.
- Ability to design and prepare structural drawings and specifications for facility systems.
- strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- Minimum of 8 years of Structural Engineering experience, particularly in designing greenfield projects for industrial facilities.
- FE/EIT certification (required); Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Preferred experience in semiconductor facilities and underground piping, conduit, or roadway design.
