A Senior Overhead Transmission Line Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company. Remote work. This position will lead the design, development, and delivery of utility transmission and distribution projects, interface with clients, mentor global teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards to drive energy transition and modernization initiatives.

responsibilities:
- Develop engineering designs for utility transmission and distribution systems.
- Interface directly with utility/developer clients and understand client standards.
- Deliver design outputs on-time and within budget.
- Provide engineering oversight, expertise, and direction.
- Mentor team members across North America and globally with the company's Global Integrated Delivery (GID).
- Support sales and proposal preparation processes for new contracts.
- Participate in industry events to promote company services and stay updated on innovations.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Civil, Electrical, or related engineering fields (Master's degree accounts for 1 year of professional experience).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S. with the ability to obtain additional licenses.
- Minimum 8 years of direct experience in Overhead Transmission Line Engineering design.
- Advanced knowledge of NESC, RUS, ASCE, and other industry design specifications.
- Experience with engineering deliverables: bill of materials, stringing charts, structure drawings, etc.
- Prior experience with steel pole vendor specifications and fabrication drawings.
- Proficiency with QA/QC of design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Skilled in software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, and foundation design tools like MFAD, LPile.
- Field visit and walk-down capabilities for construction support.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is preferred.
- strong communication, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with great presentation skills.
