An Infrastructure Support Professional is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Knoxville, TN area. The IT Support Specialist provides first-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, and operating system issues, manages problem tickets, ensures timely resolution, and delivers excellent customer support while maintaining system performance.

responsibilities:
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, and operating system issues.
- Document users' problems through an online problem management system, including opening, updating, and closing problem tickets.
- Respond to telephone calls, emails, and problem tickets for personnel requests for technical support.
- Track and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.
- Resolve PC software configuration problems and remotely install software products and approved patches.
- Troubleshoot computer problems, perform hardware and software diagnostics, and coordinate required repairs.
- Resolve computer system problems through coordination with users, product line specialists, and enterprise infrastructure support staff.
- Diagnose, isolate, and analyze problems using historical database records.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience troubleshooting end-user problems, including software and hardware setup and support.
- Excellent communication and customer support skills.
- Understanding of client-server and networking principles.
- Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM concepts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related IT discipline, or six years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of experience in troubleshooting applications or network-related issues.
- At least 1 year of experience using ticket tracking tools such as Heat, Remedy, or ServiceNow.
- At least 1 year of experience providing customer service.
