This position calls for an experienced engineer who will be designing, developing, and implementing control systems. This requires a great understanding of automation systems that include troubleshooting, and PLC programming. A Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field is required as well as 5 years of experience programming and maintaining automation systems. responsibilities:
- Design and implement control programs using Allen-Bradley PLCs (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and software such as RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000.
- Create HMI screens and establish links, incorporating company standard modules and custom programming when necessary.
- Develop safety programs for Banner/GuardLogix safety controllers and safety devices.
- Build custom vision applications using Keyence Software and Cognex Spreadsheet for Cognex cameras.
- Create robot applications, primarily for Fanuc and Epson robots.
- Develop software for additional devices to be incorporated into future projects.
- Design and configure control systems, including I/O configuration, HMI integration, and communication protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and design systems to meet appropriate safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC programs, control systems, and field devices.
- Implement corrective measures to reduce downtime and enhance system performance.
- Perform comprehensive testing and validation of control systems to confirm they meet design specifications and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for control system designs, including pinning charts, code comments, and user manuals.
- Partner with engineering, project management, and assembly teams to understand system requirements and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Follow and maintain company standards while proposing and implementing improvements as needed.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve processes, increasing system efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Ensure all control systems adhere to relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
