A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Pontiac, IL area. The Quality Engineer will oversee and improve quality standards, lead problem-solving efforts for scrap and rework issues, manage quality control programs, and collaborate with teams to evaluate and maintain product and process integrity in a manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:
- Review and approve sampling procedures, designs, forms, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Review and supervise programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
- Act as a specialist in areas such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, R&D, and administrative applications.
- Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, products, or process quality and reliability.
- Plan and direct activities related to developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
- Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Proficiency with computer applications and software related to engineering fields (e.g., CAD).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 8-10 years of experience required.
