Large utility is looking for a Sr. Field Engineering Tech Analyst in Lansing, MI. The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst will support large gas distribution replacement projects by integrating with operations and construction teams, leveraging GIS and GPS technologies to collect and document as-installed asset information, while ensuring project completion according to plan. responsibilities:
- Integrate with Operations and construction teams during gas construction projects.
- Ensure projects are completed according to plan.
- Leverage equipment and technologies to assist with positional verifications and document field changes.
- Collect as-installed gas asset information using GIS and GPS technologies.
- Develop and maintain documentation processes related to GIS and GPS technology implementation.
- Participate in meetings, including Operating Reviews, technology demonstrations, and pre-construction meetings.
- Technical understanding of natural gas distribution systems, construction design, and record development.
- Knowledge of construction print reading, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities simultaneously.
- strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with GPS antenna hardware and software.
- Familiarity with surveying control practices.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps).
- Familiarity with natural gas distribution systems.
- strong teamwork, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of there (3) years of related applicable work experience or
- Associate degree with a minimum of six (6) years of related applicable work experience or
- High School Diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years of applicable work experience.
- Utility Locator Experience.
