An Architectural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. The Architectural Designer/Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating architectural layouts and construction drawings using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and solving design challenges in industrial and commercial projects.

responsibilities:
- Plan architectural layouts and prepare detailed designs for small buildings or portions of major buildings.
- Create construction drawings using 2D/3D CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Prepare building material interface details for review by senior personnel.
- Develop specifications and related documents for projects.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines on project designs.
- Review design drawings and documents from suppliers and subcontractors for compliance.
- Participate in architectural studies and apply industry principles and techniques.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for assigned personnel.
- Assist in preparing forecasts, quantity take-offs, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, industry standards, and design criteria.
- Expertise in architectural concepts, techniques, materials, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with planning, control methods, and construction economics.
- Understanding of engineering procedures (EDPs) and design guides.
- Proficiency in CAD applications (AutoCAD, Revit) and other architectural software.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
- strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- A recognized degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 9 years of project design experience.
